“接触传播是本病最主要的传播途径。可以通过接触病人和被感染动物的各种体液、分泌物、排泄物及其污染物感染。据文献报道，埃博拉出血热患者的精液中可分离到病毒，故存在性传播的可能性。有动物实验表明，埃博拉病毒可通过气溶胶传播。虽然尚未证实有通过性传播和空气传播的病例发生，但应予以警惕，做好防护。”
《Questions and Answers on Ebola》中说：
“Ebola is transmitted through direct contact with the blood or bodily fluids of an infected symptomatic person or though exposure to objects (such as needles) that have been contaminated with infected secretions.”“Ebola is not a respiratory disease like the flu, so it is not transmitted through the air.”“Ebola is not a food-borne illness. It is not a water-borne illness.”
