FDA prohibits certain uses of cephalosporins in livestock
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a final rule that prohibits certain extralabel uses of cephalosporins in cattle, swine, chickens, and turkeys. The FDA has determined that extralabel uses of such drugs in animals are likely to lead to the emergence of cephalosporin-resistant strains of foodborne bacterial pathogens, and present a risk to the public health. The rule is scheduled to take effect on April 5,2012 and APIC is preparing comments to the rule in advance of the agency’s March 6 deadline. (from APIC 01/06/2012) 目前我们国家家畜使用抗生素现象非常严重,这也在一定程度上增加了抗生素的抵制作用,所以国家将要实施的这项政策利国利民,力挺!{:1_1:}
